Mr. Krishnakant Unadkat, born and brought up in Junagadh, Gujarat, is one of the most respected and influential figures in Gujarati journalism and literature. He holds academic qualifications in B.Com, LL.B., and a Master’s degree in  Journalism and Mass Communication, reflecting his strong intellectual foundation and professional commitment.

He is currently serving as the Editor of Sandesh, Surat, where his leadership, integrity, and journalistic vision continue to shape public discourse. Mr. Unadkat is a pioneer in Gujarati literature, being the first Gujarati author to launch his own mobile application on both iOS and Android platforms, successfully blending literature with digital innovation.

His weekly column “Chintan Ni Pale”, published in Sandesh’s Sunday Sanskar supplement, enjoys immense popularity among readers. In addition, his column “Doorbeen”, published in the Wednesday semi-weekly supplement, and his daily “Extra Comment” column on current affairs, reflect his sharp insight, social sensitivity, and fearless expression.

Mr. Unadkat began his journalistic career in 1985 with Shuruaat, a daily newspaper founded by his father. Over the decades, he has served with distinction as an editor across several leading newspapers and magazines, including Jansatta, Chitralekha, Samkaaleen, Abhiyan, Gujarat Samachar, and Sandesh, in various cities.

In recognition of his outstanding contribution to journalism, he was honoured with a Journalism Award at the Parliament House in New Delhi by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. He was also conferred the prestigious Sadhna Patrakarita Puraskar by renowned Gujarati litterateur Shri Rameshbhai Oza.

Mr. Unadkat is a prolific author with 28 published books to his credit, including the highly acclaimed Chintan series and Doorbeen collections, which have deeply influenced contemporary Gujarati thought, literature, and social awareness.
